Fosters was established by the Clarke and King families in 1959 as a wine merchant called Howells of Bristol. Two years later, the company established dining rooms called Fosters Rooms in Small Street, Bristol. Fosters won its first outside contract in 1964 catering lunches, dinners, banquets and royal occasions at the Merchants Hall in Bristol. From the bars at concerts and the bar in Imperial Gardens, to wedding receptions and event catering for parties, all catering at both the Town Hall and Pittville Pump Room is supplied by Fosters Event Catering.

In addition to venues, Fosters supply catering to Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the Orangery at Goldney Hall, the Lord Mayor’s Mansion House, the Royal Bath and West Showground and Bath Rugby Football Club. They have also provided outside catering to prestigious organisations including Airbus, BBC, Glaxosmithkline, Orange and Rolls Royce.
