Calling all Artists! ‘The Art of Selling Songs’ Competition
Calling all artists!
The Wilson, Cheltenham is holding a competition for students and practitioners, to produce their own iconic album artwork.
Winners will have their artwork professionally printed on a 12” album sleeve, framed and exhibited in our third floor gallery, as a celebration of community talent alongside The Art of Selling Songs, an exhibition organised by The Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
To enter, you will need to send us your artwork, or a quality photograph of your artwork by email, a re-imagination of a cover for an album that you love. It must be suitable for a square album sleeve (dimensions below) and the original must have a resolution of at least 300dpi for printing purposes. Please send your entry to:
In your email submission, you will also need to include a short written statement of around 150 words, explaining what the album means and its significance to you.
The deadline for submissions is very soon! Saturday 16th March, so get creative and get in touch!
[Dimensions: 31.43cm x 31.43cm. One entry per person. Entries accepted from creative practitioners resident in the UK, studying with or affiliated with universities, FE and HE institutions in the Southwest of England, specifically Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Bristol and Somerset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Warwickshire regions.
