In this first concert of the CSO’s Spring Series – an English Celebration – hear Vaughan Williams’s warm and affectionate evocation of the capital city, A London Symphony. Britten’s violin concerto – with soloist Fenella Humphreys – is an early work full of originality and invention.

No English celebration would be complete without Holst, Cheltenham’s famous son – here represented by his Somerset Rhapsody.
