FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do we book our wedding?

You can make a provisional booking that can be held for two weeks. To guarantee your wedding you will need to request an application form. Once your completed application form has been received, a deposit letter of 50% will be sent. Once the deposit has been received your wedding is guaranteed.

Can we have the ceremony only and then move on elsewhere for the reception?

Yes, the latest time you can get married on a Saturday is 12.00pm. We can be flexible on other days so please call for details.

Do we have to book the registrar separately?

Yes, you will need to agree a time and date with both the venue and Gloucestershire Registration Service on 01242 532455 to make sure a registrar is available to attend. You can book your wedding as far in advance as you wish. Please note, however, that you will not be able to give your legal notice of intention to marry or form your civil partnership until you are within a year of your ceremony date.

What is the maximum number of guests we can have for our wedding breakfast & evening reception?

The Pittville Pump Room Main Auditorium can accommodate 220 guests for your wedding breakfast on round tables and 400 guests for your evening reception. Cheltenham Town Hall Main Hall can accommodate 450 guests on round tables and 700 guests for an evening reception. Please don’t hesitate to call us for more details.

Who provides the catering for our wedding?

Fosters Event Catering is our dedicated and sole food and drink supplier, offering a wide selection of seasonal menus using only the best locally sourced quality ingredients. Please don’t hesitate to call us for more details.

Can the menus accommodate any special dietary needs?

Yes, Fosters Event Catering can cater for any dietary requirements you or your guests may have. Please don’t hesitate to call us for more details.

Can you provide a cake stand and knife?

Yes, we can provide the knife and cake stand. Please check the size and shape of the cake stand before purchasing your cake.  You can of course bring your own cake stand and knife if you wish.

Do you supply chair covers?

Chair covers are not included in the standard hire fee, but we can recommend suppliers.

Can we deliver our table decorations the day before our wedding?

Yes, you can drop off table plans, name cards, favours etc. the day before your wedding. Please don’t hesitate to call us for more details.

Do you provide table linen?

White linen tablecloths and white linen napkins are included in your hire fee. If you require coloured linen please call us to discuss.

Do I have to lay the name cards etc. out on the morning of our wedding?

No, we can lay the tables with your name places, favours, menus etc. as long as they are given to us in table order.

Can we provide our own wine?

Yes, please call us for the corkage fee.

Can we have fireworks?

Unfortunately fireworks are not permitted out of respect for the noise levels for local residents.

Can we launch Chinese lanterns?

Unfortunately we do not allow Chinese lanterns to be launched, as the debris impacts on our local residents and farmland. This ruling is in line with recommendations from the Country Land Association.

Can we throw confetti on our wedding day?

Yes, biodegradable confetti to be used outside only please to look after the local environment.

 

Can we use candles?

Candles can be used on the table, as long as they are in a safe candleholder.

Is there an area that could be used as a crèche if needed?

There are additional rooms in all venues, which could be used as a crèche area.  Full supervision is required.

Does our band, DJ or any external supplier need any certificates?

Yes, all external suppliers must have Public Liability Insurance. This is to protect the venue and guests against injury caused by the supplier. An up to date Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) certificate is required, which is an electrical safety check that all equipment has to have, irrespective of its age.

Where can I park?

There are 150 free public car parking spaces at Pittville Pump Room. There are four car parking spaces at Cheltenham Town Hall. For town centre parking please see Cheltenham Borough Council’s website

When is the final balance required?

After paying your initial deposit we require your balance three months prior to your wedding date. A reminder letter will be sent to you one month prior to the payment date.
