African Sanctus and Chilcott: A Little Jazz Mass

Bob Chilcott
Claire Rutter – Soprano
Beauregard singers
Cheltenham Bach Choir
The Backbeat Percussion Quartet
David Crown – Conductor
David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus is a work entirely unique in canon. A boisterous and thrilling journey with the accompaniment of drums, piano and electric guitars, alongside taped extras. It is in your face, exciting and truly never forgotten. We are joined by international Soprano Claire Rutter who has a long association with the piece.
This will be coupled with a performance of Bob Chilcott’s very cool little Jazz Mass, along with a solo work of our drum department and songs from the wonderful Beauregard singers. With the Cheltenham Bach Choir right back in the groove, this will be a formidably enjoyable evening.
There will be an introductory talk with Jane Fanshawe to introduce the African Sanctus.
