Exploring quilts and quilting in The Wilson’s collection

Exploring quilts and quilting in The Wilson’s collection
Colourful quilts, and the hobby of quilting, continue to be as popular today as they were in the 19th century. Curator Kirsty Hartsiotis will delve into the history of quilting in Britain and Ireland through the stories behind the quilts and coverlets in The Wilson’s collection.
From grandmother’s flower garden, to marriage symbolism, to appliqued scraps, to crazy quilts, you’ll explore how quilts have changed, or not, over the past two hundred years of quilting through the art gallery and museum’s exciting and varied collection.
