Finals Concert at Pittville Pump Rooms on Tuesday, March 3rd 2020 at 7pm

The county’s top musical talent will be in the spotlight on March 3rd when the finals of the Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year 2020 take place at Pittville Pump Room.
This year’s competitors have included pianists, strings and woodwind players and a percussionist.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £500, the Hewitt-Jones Trophy and will be given the opportunity to perform a recital at the Cheltenham Music Festival, as well as two concerto performances with the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra and Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra.

The runners-up will receive a cash prize of £50 and there will also be an Audience Prize of £200 sponsored by the Carducci Trust – the charitable trust initiated by the prestigious Carducci String Quartet. The winner of this prize will perform at the Carducci Festival in Highnam Court.

The judging panel will be chaired by Professor Derek Aviss, former Principal of Trinity College and President of the Gloucestershire Academy of Music.

Tickets for the finals on March 3 are priced £15 (under-18s free).
