James’ recital work includes performances in France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Holland, Bermuda, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Malaysia. Having studied at the Moscow Conservatoire (reaching the semi finals of the International Tchaikovsky Competition) he frequently returns to perform in the former Soviet Union. His concerto partnerships include the English and Scottish Chamber Orchestras and the Moscow, Khazakh and Belorussian Symphony Orchestras. He teaches at the Royal Welsh College, University of London and Eton College, and is Honorary Professor at the Rachmaninov Institute, Russia.
