Joseph Haydn Sonata in E flat, Hob. XVI/52
Ludwig van Beethoven Sonata in c, opus 111
Fryderyk Chopin Mazurkas, opus 63
Franz Schubert Sonata in B flat, D. 960

“a breathtaking interpretation of some of the final works of the great composers”.
Seen and Heard International.

James Lisney continues his exploration of ‘late style’ and creative maturity with the final piano sonatas of Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert – plus a late set of Chopin’s Mazurkas.

“I have nothing but praise for James Lisney`s piano playing; he combines velvet touch and wide range of colour with complete understanding of phrasing and dynamic shading. This is someone who can really give the mechanical box of wires and wood a singing soul.” The Telegraph
