Nafis Umerkulova (Piano) – Lunchtime Recital 2022
Born in Tashkent, Nafis started piano from the age of five, inspired by her mother who was also a pianist.

In 2004 she moved to the UK and was awarded scholarships to the Purcell School, Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While studying in Scotland, she appeared on a BBC documentary about Schubert.

Her UK recitals include Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St John’s Smith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Glasgow City Halls, Manchester Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Town and Symphony Hall. In 2019 Nafis released her debut album “Darkness Illuminated”, featuring music by Scriabin and his contemporary Stanchinsky.
