Stephen Hough plays Tchaikovsky
Beethoven – Symphony No. 5 in C minor
Piano – Stephen Hough
Conductor – Tom Gauterin
Bristol Classical Players
For their first Cheltenham concert after lockdown, Bristol Classical Players are delighted to welcome back superstar pianist Stephen Hough for what promises to be a thrilling performance of Tchaikovsky’s magnificent first Piano Concerto.
2020 was Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year, so the orchestra is going to take the chance to make good on what we all missed last year by performing Beethoven’s famous 5th Symphony. One of the greatest pieces of music ever written and still as exciting now as the day it was written, the ‘da-da-da-DAAA’ with which it begins remains the most arresting start to any orchestral work. Don’t miss it!
